A striking mixed-use facade project in Leeds city centre, The Store House at Briggate features Grade 18P Spray GRC panels across a substantial rainscreen facade package. The use of GRC provides a robust yet lightweight solution, helping the development achieve a clean, contemporary appearance while also meeting the technical and practical demands of a large urban scheme.
With a project size of 2,000m², the scheme represents a major facade installation. The project was delivered with HG Construction as main contractor and Corstorphine Wright as architect, with the facade design developed closely to coordinate key interfaces with glazing, balconies and street-level frontages. This coordinated approach helped create a cohesive external finish while supporting long-term durability across the building envelope.
A key feature of the project is the variety of column, banded, ribbed and waffled panel designs used throughout the elevations, introducing depth, texture and strong shadow lines to enhance the architectural character of the building. Large-format GRC panels of over 7m² were also used to reduce joint frequency, support installation productivity and maintain a sharp, modern finish across this complex city-centre development.
