A high-quality residential facade project in central Glasgow, North Claremont Street features a mixed stone rainscreen system combining Aerolite Stonework granite and Total Stone. The scheme uses the TI-DF1 sub frame as a common support platform, with Aerolite Stonework granite supported on the TI-DF2 kerf system and TI-DF4 undercut anchor system, while Total Stone is supported on the TI-DF3 kerf system. This combination helps create a durable, contemporary external finish while also allowing different cladding elements to work together across the elevations.
With a project size of 500m², the development highlights how multiple support systems can be coordinated within one facade package to suit different panel formats, edge conditions and fixing requirements. The project was delivered with Carmichael Homes Ltd as main contractor, helping bring together the practical and technical elements required for a strong end result.
A key feature of the project is the use of off-site fabrication and fully engineered support systems to support efficient installation on a constrained city-centre site. The facade was also carefully coordinated to achieve crisp interfaces with windows, balconies and adjacent facade elements, resulting in a smart, robust and well-resolved finish suited to a prominent urban residential setting.
