GRC

Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) offers architects exceptional freedom in form, scale, and surface detail — but successful GRC façades rely on careful coordination between design, fixing strategy, and buildability.

Our GRC façade solutions use lightweight, glass fibre–reinforced concrete panels to deliver crisp definition, deep relief, and complex geometry—without the weight and constraints of traditional precast or masonry. Panels can be manufactured in a broad range of formats, thicknesses, and finishes, from clean, flat rainscreen elements to bespoke architectural features including fins, soffits, cornices, reveals, and feature surrounds.

The GRC Façade System

Our GRC façade solutions utilise lightweight, moulded concrete panels reinforced with glass fibres to achieve complex shapes, deep profiles, and architectural features that would be impractical using traditional materials.

Panels can be produced in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses, and finishes — from flat rainscreen panels to bespoke architectural features such as fins, soffits, cornices, and feature surrounds.

Fixing Strategy & System Integration

GRC façades differ from conventional rainscreen systems due to panel geometry, thickness variation, and the way loads are distributed through the panel. As a result, fixing strategies are project-specific and typically integrated into the panel design rather than applied as a standardised rail-and-panel solution.

*Fixing configuration is subject to project-specific engineering assessment.*

Stud Frame Method
This production technique secures GRC panels to a galvanised steel frame, which both stabilises and reinforces the panel. Additionally, the frame includes a deadload and tie-back supports for attachment to the building's primary structure. This fabrication method is best suited for slab to slab construction. The specific anchoring points & necessary additional bracketry are determined by engineering analysis to ensure secure fixation.
Ribbed Panel Method
Engineered for enhanced durability, GRC panels feature integral ribs that serve as stiffeners across both the perimeter & the inner surface, providing the necessary strength to withstand wind loads while preventing bowing. These ribs, equipped with cast-in sockets, facilitate the suspension of panels from bespoke bracketry attached to concrete slabs or SFS infill panels, with the precise fixing methods designated by a structural engineer.

Samples, Specification & Technical Support

We provide samples, technical information, and project-specific guidance to support specification and early design development. Whether a project calls for standard panels or bespoke architectural features, our team can help define the most appropriate GRC façade solution and provide the details needed to support design and tender requirements.

Design Flexibility & Architectural Expression

GRC is well suited to projects where architectural expression is a key driver. It supports flat panels and articulated rainscreen façades, bespoke moulded shapes and deep profiles, feature elements and detailing, curved and non-standard geometries, and integration with adjacent façade materials. We help architects realise complex design intent while keeping solutions practical to fabricate, install, and maintain.

Compliance, Buildability & Delivery Support

Delivering GRC façades successfully requires close coordination across design, engineering, fabrication, and installation. We work with specialist manufacturing and engineering partners to confirm panel sizes and weights are achievable on site, validate fixing strategies for wind and load conditions, resolve interfaces with adjacent façade systems, and ensure installation methodology is clear and practical. Our support continues through construction to help ensure the façade is delivered as designed.construction, and installation.
